Meet The Directors
Dan Mullen
Mr. Mullen is in his ninth year as director of bands for Beverly Hills Intermediate School. He is a native of Pittsburgh, PA and began teaching in Texas in 2005. He has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Virginia Tech and a B.S. in Music Education from Indiana University of PA. He completed his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration with principal’s certification from Lamar University in the summer of 2015.
Prior to his appointment at Beverly Hills, he taught for two years in the Round Rock ISD and six years in the Waller ISD. He has also served as the director of bands at Riverside High School in Durham, North Carolina for one year.
Mr. Mullen was a founding and four-year member of the Golden Lancers, a DCI division III drum and bugle corps from Pittsburgh, PA, winning the best drum major award in 1995. He also served as the brass caption head for the division III General Butler Vagabonds, leading the hornline to a brass title in 2000.
Mr. Mullen will conduct the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band and will assist with the Symphonic Band, Percussion, and Beginner Band classes. He lives in the Pearland area with his wife, two children, dog, and cat.

Wes Hardy
Mr. Hardy is in his fifteenth year as a band director at Beverly Hills Intermediate School. He is a native of Minden, Louisiana and began teaching in Texas in 2003. Mr. Hardy is a United States Marine Corps Veteran and earned his B.S. in Music Education from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
Prior to his arrival at Beverly Hills, Mr. Hardy taught for one year in the Bruceville-Eddy ISD and four years in Tarkington ISD. Mr. Hardy also taught in Rockdale ISD during the 2003 spring semester serving as the low brass lessons teacher for the band program there.
Mr. Hardy is a trombonist who periodically performs with various church orchestras in the Houston area. He also serves as a substitute Trombonist with the Pasadena Philharmonic Orchestra.
Mr. Hardy will conduct the Symphonic Band, Cadet Band, and Beginning Band. He also assists with the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band.
