UIL 2019 is a huge success!

On March 5th and 6th, both the symphonic band and the wind ensemble traveled to Channelview High School for our annual concert and sight-reading evaluation (UIL Contest). Both bands performed three prepared pieces on stage for three judges and a sight-reading piece for three additional judges. We are excited to announce that both bands earned "straight-ones." This is the highest rating possible where all six of the judges gave the bands a superior, division one rating. BHI was one of only two Pasadena schools to achieve this. This is the first time since 2012 that both the top and second bands at BHI have both earned "straight-ones." We are extremely proud of the students in these groups for all of the hard work they put in to preparing for their performances!
