Congratulations to our top two bands, who performed at the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation at Channelview HS on Tuesday, March 8th. UIL is like the STAAR test for band. Students perform three prepared pieces on stage and then sight-read a piece they have never seen before. Three judges in each area rate the bands based on their performance on a scale of 1-5. A division one rating is considered superior.

Our Symphonic Band (Non-Varsity) earned an excellent, division 2 rating on stage and earned straight-ones from all three judges in sight-reading.

Our Wind Ensemble (Varsity) earned straight ones from all six judges (the highest rating possible).

We are are very proud of the students and their hard work to prepare for these performances. Go Bears!
